Two things i did today that old scott wouldn’t have done: Didn’t make it to the Y today but read Bible in Settler’s and talked openly about Him in there. Old Scott didn’t really have the courage to do that.

As far as the rest of the day. Drama, drama, drama. Enough said. Good night.

2 things i did today that old scott wouldn’t have done: went to the YMCA and read the Bible. actually turns out i did a third thing and didn’t even realize it. i offered to sing at a funeral. someone pointed out that it seems i am offering to sing more and more these days. i guess eventhough i was confident in my singing abilities, i was not confident in me when i was so overweight.

So I went to the Y bright and early. Did arms and then I was still afraid to swim because of the ear infection (even with the sexy ear plugs my dr. gave me) so I jumped on the machine which was certainly invented by satan to torture fat people; the elliptical. My previous best was 12 minutes and today I made 17. This exercise thing is getting better. More reading from my new favorite book of the Bible, Romans..helps me struggle through 2 chronicles knowing that Romans awaits. Work was pretty good until I picked up the paper and read that Michael Napoleone lost his fight with Leukemia at the ripe old age of 8. That’s just not right. The paper talked about even in the pictures of him in the hospitals going through chemo, how he was always smiling. What a great little kid. I felt God telling me I should offer to sing at the services. I skipped out of work at 4:45 (hope Jay Gsell is not reading this) and bolted over to the funeral home. I got to talk to his brother Marky and sister Ashley (two of only a handful of Notre Dame alum I actually like) and his mom. I offered to sing but they already had the high school choir singing. They really appreciated me just stopping in to express my condolences and offering to sing. I am not the greatest at citing scriptures (hence the daily bible reading) but I KNOW that Jesus LOVED little children and I have always believed that there was a special place in heaven for them. I just read today or yesterday about how we get a new body in heaven. While it was hard to see that little boy in his casket with his body swollen from illness, I took delight knowing that he is running and playing in heaven in his new, PERFECT, healthy body. I am glad they are a religious family because I don’t know how people who don’t believe in my Lord and Savior could ever get through a time like this.

I rushed to Martins and bought the ingredients for the new recipe I had been dying to try; Rachael Ray’s Buffalo Chicken Chili. It was sooo good. I text my friend “are you hungry?” and she said she just ate but when I told her what I made she said she’d be right over. It was awesome. I frantically rushed to chop the veggies and get it all done with just enough time to eat it and get to worship team practice. I love that church and that Jeff Harmon fellow. Off to bed. peace and love.

new year’s day

So today was pretty uneventful. I went to Settler’s and had breakfast and read the Bible. The book of Romans is awesome. I write it down everytime I come across something meaningful and I think I have more out of Romans than the whole Bible so far. I definitely want to get the NIV Life Application Study Bible and a Bible case. Perhaps I will give my NLT one to my nephew Cody. Sorry Pastor Paul, just not crazy about the NLT. I need a bible cover so I can always have paper and a pen with me. New Year’s Resolution: I WILL do at least 2 things per day that the old Scott would not do. Even if it’s as simple as exercise or spend time reading the WORD.  peace and love

2 things i did today that old scott wouldn’t do: i went to the Y and read the bible.

I did my chest/shoulders workout and then 10 minutes on the stair master. I definitely do NOT like the stairmaster. Planning on popping in my cool earplugs and getting back in the pool tomorrow morning, but it may be real hard to get up if I get home late tonight. I am babysitting Braden tonight while the girls go see High School Musical, which is something old Scott MIGHT have done. Probably not because he was very lazy. Would have probably said I can’t stay up that late on a work night. Romans had some good reading again today. Chapter 11 points out that God’s grace is unearned and undeserved. How true. God chooses us because of His kindness, not because of our works.
